We arrived after a 20 hour bus trip from El Calafate. We checked into this really crappy hostel (Don't worry be happy - probably one of the worst we've stayed in) for the 1 night and then later in the arvo we went looking for a nother nicer one. We found a fairly good priced one just down the road with friendly staff and a good common area called Posada del Catalejo. Nothing much was open in town as it was a public holiday so we just chilled out. The next day we checked out a few dive companies around town as we were keen to do the wreck dive and swim with sea lions untill we found out the price. It was more exspensive then Perth. We decided since we'd already done a wreck dive and swam with sea lions in Galapogos we didn't need to do it. So we choose to just do a day tour out to the peninsular were you can see the southern right whales, orca's (killer whales), pengiuns sea lions and elephant seals.

This spot is the only place in the world where the orca's beach themsleves and eat the seals . We looked at the spot for about half hour but it was low tide so there was no chance much to Juniors disappointment. At the next place we stopped to look at the penguins but noticed some juvanile orca's practicing to beach themsleves. It was awesome and we were both so happy to see them the penguins lost all of our attention.

After lunch it was time for the whale watching cruise. About 50 of us piled onto this boat with our life jacktes on and set sale for about 20 mins until we saw them. All the male whales had left the bay so it was just the mothers and the calves. They were awesom. The first lot were playing which was pretty exciting to see. A couple even jumped out of the water. In the end there were about 10 whales around the area we were in. We were out there for just under 2 hours although got over the selfish people on the boat not sitting down when the captain told them to and pushing people out of the way to get photos. Some people didn't look up from their camera the whole tiime and really enjoy the moment, I guess they can have a better look when the get home and download them onto their computer...

After we had an hour bus trip back to Puerto Madryn. We met some guys from the US who we had dinner with that night which was good fun. Nice guys.
