Santiago, Chile
While Kevin visits a mine, I am reading about Santiago and then go out for my first exploration. Being a bit of an artist myself, I have the nose to discover art markets... I find one and fool around testing clay flutes and whistles made in the north of Chilli. I discover a great place for lunch and just enjoy the atmosphere of the city. At 2pm Kevin is back from his visit and we go out to explore the city together!

Our first outing is up the Santa Maria Hill to pay respects to the statue of Virgin Mary. She is watching over this city night and day and the view is great. We take a tram to the top and decend via a cable car. We eat wonderful ice creams as we walk back to the hotel. Our path leads through an area with huge expensive houses - old impressive buildings and high fences. We find a hamburger joint and then take the metro back to the city centre. We buy some of those wonderful flutes I played this morning and then go to sleep.... I sleep till 2am when I wake up alert and very hungry! This is jetlag....
