after a day by the pool it was time to meet Angharad after school for afternoon tea at the intercontinental hotel in the city. the lobby was decorated for Christmas with a real gingerbread house and festive scene all made out of chocolate. no nativity scene of course.
Kevin joined us for a beer in the bar
. it was quite a shock to find ourselves in a smoking atmosphere and also find a group of Qatari men in their thobes drinking heavily (1/2 bottle of Johnny Walker in the time to drink a bottle of beer),loud rock music from the mid 1970's and QPR v Swansea on TV. Then it was up to the 55th floor for happy hour cocktails and a fabulous 360* nighttime view of the city.
