This morning we met our great nieces for the first time,Selma(8) and Liya(5) and they spent the day with us as their parents enjoyed a weekend away in the north east of the island. the pool beckoned for us all. we probably had to much sun so we all sheltered in the shady bit of the jacuzzi until it was time to go out to dinner.
we went to the Outrigger hotel,which is built into the ruins of a sugar plantation,on the beach a few miles south round the Morne,an iconic mountain hereabouts
. Miranda's friend Agnes' husband is the head chef and we had a fabulous meal. post-prandial entertainment was an exhibition of the local music and sega dancing which was great fun and our great nieces joined in enthusiastically at the end.
