We took a bus with some friends of Miranda's back to Grand Baie to go on a catamaran cruise to a little island a mile or two off the coast. It didn't augur well as we had a flat tyre and the heavens opened as we drove across the island but cheered up as we reached our destination. The little beach side was heaving with trip boats but as we were about to board the heavens opened and one boat returned immediately but amidst some grumbling we boarded and departed. There were a couple of squalls but these subsided but the sea did become choppy and people began to be sick and one lady slipped and banged her head badly. Although she was happy to carry on to the island as it was in sight and 15 mins away others decided we should return ,albeit it would take nearly an hour. Naturally the weather improved immediately and the sun shone. When we arrived back in port the organisers agreed to serve us lunch back on board the boat so we eventually got our money's worth.
More drama followed as Sebastian forgot his iPad on the bus but thankfully the driver found it and returned it the following day . Phew!
