A very hot morning spent shopping for tonight and tomorrow as shops will be shut,a leisurely lunch and then just as we were about to go to the beach the heavens opened. So we prepared dinner and waited for a nice sunset but alas the weather cleared up a bit too late. However by then Miranda's friend Agnes had arrived and we attacked the champagne and watched the fireworks that were going off all evening from our dining table on the terrace. Agnes's husband Jerry arrived in time from the hotel having managed to feed 500 by 11pm to see in the new year with more bubbly by which time the whole bay was alight with displays from the hotels on the beaches and mortars and rockets from the locals inland. Absolutely brilliant!
