Black River, Black River, Mauritius
It is getting close to the end of the lychee season so we are making the most of them buying them from the stalls set up on the road side and outside the local supermarkets and of course there are the ubiquitous mangoes. soft exotic fruit heaven!
The hardest decision of the day is where to have a swim, this time it was the jacuzzi, followed by the pool which came to an end when the rain started . As per usual in the late afternoon it brightened up considerably so we took a walk on the local beach La Preneuse where stands a Martello tower and a rapidly eroding gun emplacement. The lagoon is so shallow that when the tide is out you can walk to the coral reef.
In the evening we had a lovely leg of lamb with roasted veg on the terrace with our nephew and family, washed down with some lovely South African "cleanskin" wine. A special bonus was the sunset too. Tomorrow our son arrives so more celebrations. Life doesn't get any better!
