Our driver arranged to pick us up at 3.30pm from the resort.This meant we had almost a full day by the pool and after a late lunch he took us back to Fort Cochin via a big temple festival which featured 15 elephants all dressed up with golden headdresses and 3 mahouts. The animals were so docile that they took no notice of the intermittent fireworks or the cacophony being played by drummers and trumpeters. Kate was in Nelly heaven!
