Hà Nội, Vietnam
First thing In the morning we boarded our tender to visit a limestone cave complex which was discovered by the French in the early 1900's. Three caverns increasing in size as you processed through full of stalactites and stalagmites with some rock formations that with a bit of imagination became various animals. After a lovely brunch and a vegetable decoration demonstration it was time to disembark and a 4 hour bus trip back to Hanoi to et the overnight train to Hue. Time to organise dinner for the train and have a cold beer and enjoy the wifi.
Soon it was time to make our way to Hanoi railway station to catch the overnight train to Hue . The sleeping cabins have 4 berths and have a lockable door so security is not an issue like the Thai and Indian sleepers. We were greeted by patriotic songs and stirring words but these stopped soon enough only to start again nearer our destination to ensure our pure thoughts first thing. We had bought some snacks before departure but soon ran out of beer so when the trolley service arrived we asked for some cold beer. The little old lady scuttled off for 20 minutes leaving us with the trolley which was quite trusting and even the security guard who walked past didn't think it unusual.
