Problems en route to Siem Reap

Siem Reap, Western Australia, Cambodia
A long day driving to Siem Reap along roads in the throes of being constructed hence dust everywhere which no doubt was the reason our bus overheated so we had a short wait in a traditional farm house as the driver used their well for water to cool the engine down. Another 15 minutes and it was time for lunch in a lakeside restaurant. Sadly the food was not as good as the view and the beer. Of course the bus overheated again and as the rain fell we sheltered in another farmhouse whilst waiting for another bus to arrive that had set off to collect us as soon as we started having trouble.
We duly arrived at our hotel in darkness 11 hours after we left Phnom Penh looking rather forlornly at the swimming pool we had been looking forward to . Still after a Tuktuk ride to the restaurant area and some good food, beer and happy hour cocktails we were happy and ready for bed as we arise to see the sun rise over Angkor Wat.

That was my worst nightmare! So sorry! The bus trip to Bangkok is also a very long day and fingers crossed it goes smoothly for you. All the best and I look forward to following your adventures.
