Another walk with Pete and Les-Lee and the dog watching the boys play rugger and the girls soccer and a coffee in the sunshine before we went to book into our hotel in the city centre. In the afternoon we wandered down through the tree lined streets, through the botanical gardens to get another look at the opera house and then round the circular key wharf up and over the rocks admiring the colonial buildings. Our quest was to find Tim Minchin's manhole which we managed by remembering the photo of him by it  We made our way back to the rocks where we sat down outside a pub with live music and enjoyed a refreshing "schooner" of beer,a bit too cold but refreshing nevertheless. We carried on walking through the old city centre with its imposing buildings from its past now being dwarfed by skyscrapers until we got to the town hall where we caught the tube back to our hotel, interestingly they are double decker carriages. For dinner we had a big bowl of pasta with a bottle of wine, what a change from noodles and rice with beer our staple diet of the last 3 months or so.
