Bondi Beach to Byron Bay

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
This morning an early check out so as to have a quick peek at Bondi Beach. Much smaller than we imagined,a nice stretch of superfine sand with a few healthy looking surfers. Back to Sydney for another lovely breakfast on the pavement in the sunshine before our flight to Byron Bay. At the airport Sebastian ,by putting his bag on a desk to put on his jacket just after the security scanners ,managed to volunteer himself for an explosives check which proved negative thankfully.
After an hour in the air we descended into Ballina airport . Immediately we were in a different world of agriculture and low rise buildings from the hustle and bustle of Sydney. A short drive up the coast with views of wide sandy beaches with large breakers until we reached a rocky bluff,Cape Byron the most easterly spot in Australia. There was time for a photo or two by the lighthouse before we reached our hotel for the next 2 nights.
Dinner tonight was in the beach hotel, once owned by crocodile dundee's manager and just sold for some obscene amount of money. We had a beer recommended by Craig on our last tour,James squires and very nice it was too.
