Byron Bay day 2

Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia
This morning we had our first (and last!) surfing lesson on Lennox Head Beach. First we had to squeeze into wet suits and then do some exercises before we allowed into the water with our boards. Despite our valiant efforts we never really got it right but it was a lot of fun and quite exhausting, the surf acting as a giant jacuzzi. A quiet afternoon doing some window shopping and enjoying the hippy vibe in this very chilled out seaside town. We even had some Hari Krishna devotees parading past our sunny pavement table as we drank a reviving beer. Then as the sun cooled down we went to sit on the lovely beach to enjoy the view before dinner at the local brewery. They were even considerate enough to run as back to the hotel in their own minibus. An early night as we leave for Brisbane airport and our flight to the Whitsunday Islands.
