Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
A few sad farewells at breakfast as some of our tour party leave for home immediately, the survivors decided to go on the free guided tour of the city although you do tip the guide. the tour took us from the State Library to the prison where Ned Kelly was hanged, through the park that has possums curled up in the trees to the Great Exhibition hall, once the biggest building in the world, along to the first parliament building until it moved to Canberra, down through the alleys adorned with street art, inside the Victorian arcades and out by flinders St station,an iconic building by the river from where we could see the MCG sports stadium.Three hours later after a really informative tour of the central area we were ready for some lunch and a beer in one of the the little alleys that run between the wide roads of the city centre. To round off the afternoon we took the free circular historic tram from Flinders St station to our hotel,it would have been quicker to walk but not half as much fun.,
