Our first day on the road in NZ

Fairlie, South Island, New Zealand
In the morning we went to pick up our campervan by the airport and after an hour or so dealing with the formalities we were off on the open road. Toot Toot! Of course we immediately took a wrong turn, missed a turn and didn't recognise a supermarket but careered along flat open countryside passing sheep, cows ,the occasional vineyard and a small brewery before we found a small town with a supermarket and duly filled up the fridge with provisions and a makeshift cellar too! Pretty soon we started climbing the hills that reminded us of the Scottish highlands. Towards sunset at about 4 we found a campsite. As we got back into the van it decided not to want to start. A call to the hire company later we managed to get it started, there didn't appear to be any rhyme or reason why it worked but it did. We parked up,put the kettle on and played house.
