Jo'burg day 2

Friday, June 26, 2015
Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa
A quiet morning as we are still recovering from the jet lag from the 9 hour time difference from NZ. We both woke up wide awake at 1am but managed to drift off until a leisurely breakfast, packed our bags again and moved to a hotel across the road to await our new fellow travellers on our new tour. Before all that we went to the Apartheid Museum for the afternoon which chronicled the rise and fall of that obnoxious system. There were some fascinating photos and background information about the resistance from many different groups, black and white. Whilst we were having dinner we chatted to another couple who told us we were lucky that we were across the road last night as there had been an armed burglary at the hotel.Clearly the double gates and razor wire around the perimeter wall was not a sufficient enough deterrent.
