Nata, Gauteng, Botswana
This morning ,before a late breakfast we went off on a bush walk. We drove to a water hole and caught sight of some eland before they ran off. We then set off on foot and our guide showed us various animal tracks, plants with healing properties, termites and spiders' lairs. No big animals but a fascinating insight into the bush. A quiet afternoon was spent with a beer or two in the warm winter sunshine watching the elephants as they came and went at the waterhole. We were told that this spot is the number 1 place on earth to have a close encounter with elephants. In the summer they can have up to 600 elephants by the hole and as they tend to get aggressive in the heat they have to close to customers. Also the swimming pool has to be emptied as they will try and use it as well.
