Maun, North West, Botswana
We survived the night in the tents but the lion noises in the night were a little bit concerning but our guide said he'd only seen one once and that was during a 4 hour bush walk. Before breakfast we had a short bush walk around the island.Within 10 yards of the tent we found fresh elephant footprints from last night. We also saw fresh Cerval and honey badger tracks but they are nocturnal so little chance of seeing them during the day. There were plenty of birds and interesting plants to look at though. After a huge breakfast cooked by sydney our tour guide we set off back to Maun where we had left our luggage.During the moloko journey we saw 2 fish Eagles and in the 4x4 in the bush we saw 2 more elephants, they really are two a penny here. Upon arrival we all had a very welcome hot shower, collected our laundry and had an ice cold beer with lunch. Then we sat by the pool with Internet. It was good to be back in civilisation!
