an early start to catch the tourist bus to take us round the marina complex,down to the iconic burj al arab and back in time to catch another dhow cruise,this time through the marina and out into the gulf to see The Palms,the islands built for premiership players to have their bolt hole in the sun. still looks like a building site and rumour has it they are slowly collapsing into the sea. after a quick lunch in yet another of the huge shopping malls we walked back along the marina walkway to enjoy an afternoon by the hotel pool.
we decided to stay local for the evening and strolled along the marina towards the beachside area where there was a decidedly Mediterranean feeling to the place . a few ferraris parked up sparked a lot of interest and they certainly made a noise when they moved up. we had a voucher from the tour bus so had quite a cheap meal at carluccios before an early night as Angharad is catching a very early plane back to Qatar. ours it at lunchtime so we have time for a swim first.
