we didn't hear Angharad leave this morning as she left at twat o'clock but we thankfully had an early afternoon flight. Kate had time for a swim before breakfast and checkout to go and catch the metro to the airport. we had forgotten that the free wifi at the airport is imaginary but a coffee shop employee told us the code for the Emirates lounge (DX-LOUNGE). so get get close to the lounge and you might get lucky.
it was too bumpy for a cuppa but we managed to eat a couple of sandwiches in the few minutes before they collected the rubbish as the flight only lasts about 40 mins . a quick drive back to Angharad's complex as today is Friday,the Muslim day of rest and many people were enjoying themselves sitting out in the gardens overlooking the corniche and not clogging up the roads. it was nice to see the new museum is nearly finished. it now no longer looks like a giant abandoned slinky!
one advantage of Angharad's residence permit is she can buy alcohol so we were able to have an aperitif and a glass of wine with dinner. but for every good thing there is a bad thing and for us Kate's iPad is having difficulty upgrading and Sebastian left his iPad charger in Dubai. Doh!
