Qatar day 6

Doha, Doha, Qatar
another warm and sunny morning spent by the pool,we even had a few desultory rain drops for a few seconds. however later on it was a different matter altogether. we had booked dinner at the Gordon Ramsey restaurant at the st Regis hotel and had requested an outside table on the terrace overlooking the sea but it became incredibly windy so we retired inside. as we enjoyed our happy hour drinks and tapas we watched lightning get ever closer until there was a massive downpour. Angharad said it was the worst rain storm she'd seen in 3 years. Qatar has not been built expecting rain at all so as we waited for our car at the entrance we looked up to the giant porch roof that was leaking like a sieve, cracks showing and paint peeling. the staff were running around desperately mopping up the water everywhere. the bar was under water as the Windows aren't watertight. real shoddy work for such a high end hotel. our drive home was just as bad with the roads all flooded as there is no drainage or even a camber but of course the pavements were now bone dry. when we got back to Angharad's we had to mop the floor as water had come through the closed windows.
