Rivière Noire, Rivière Noire, Mauritius
After a year of planning the day of jehan and faycal's wedding finally arrived. A frenetic morning for some as hairdressers and beauticians had to be visited before our drive across the island to the chateau Bel Ombre,a french colonial building, which is normally a restaurant for a nearby hotel. Because it is separate it is able to have music until the wee small hours. Jehan arrived in one of the few aston martins on the island accompanied by her brother Kamil and preceded by her 2 nieces ,selma and liya, and faycal's little nephew processed to the flower bedecked bower where the ceremony took place. After the vows were exchanged we were refreshed by coconut water and pina coladas under a giant 300 year old tree which was illuminated at night and made an excellent pre prandial bar. there was a sega dance demonstration and as the sun set we sat on the veranda of the house before the sega dancers returned to lead us the the bedouin style tent where the meal and dancing took place. the party carried on until four!
