Southampton, United Kingdom
This afternoon we ambled along to our local train station to catch a train to gatwick airport. This involves taking a train in the opposite direction to get to one that passes back through our station. we could have a taken a train towards gatwick and picked up our airport train at the next stop but this would cost us twice as much. As it happened ,when we collected our tickets the machine gave us tickets for an earlier train too but didn't charge us. The guard thought that odd and jokingly said he'd buy them off us to sell on!Oh the joys and insanity of British railway tickets!
The journey passed off without incident to the airport where we waited with a cup of tea from starbucks. The eastern european supervisor had to explain what "bucket" sized meant to the other eastern europeans behind the counter, can't but wonder where all the staff are going to come from when we leave the EU.
