we took a horse and cart down to the harbour to start our snorkelling day. Snorkelling and diving are the two daytime activities on these islands. In the evening it is party time after a sunset watching beer or two. Our first swim was just off the neighbouring island Gili M,the so called honeymoon island as every thing shuts a 9pm for some reason! We saw lots off fish just off the reef. Then we motored around to an area where turtles are found,we were successful on the second attempt. Finally it was off to Gili A island,a mix of the other two: quieter but still a party place. On the reef we saw plenty of fish. We landed on the island for lunch and beer in a shady beachside cafe before a fast dash back to Gili T. A cycle ride or horse back to the hotel for a welcome dip in the pool.At dinner time we all just stayed on the beach and had dinner marvelling at the incompetence of the staff who found it impossible to take a bottle of beer 20 yards from bar to our table without being asked three times in an hour!
