Margaret River, Western Australia, Australia
This morning we explored some of the beaches along cape naturaliste. They were all stunning, beautiful white sand and totally unspoilt, just a shame the water was just a little bit too cold for anything other than a paddle. We finished up at the little lighthouse and had our first ever tour of one with great views across the sea. Turning inland we travelled down caves road,a famous route, stopped off at Ngilgi cave. A vast subterranean cavern with crystalline stalactites where we clambered down stairways and boardwalks to a depth of 37 metres. It was west australia's first tourist attraction well over a 100 years ago. Then it was time to enjoy the more recent tourist attractions,a local boutique winery and brewery. As we drove to our next accommodation in margaret river itself the heavens opened so we ate at the italian restaurant attached to our guest house which is an original colonial style house, very quaint.
