Walking with giants

Denmark, Western Australia, Australia
This morning we spent time visiting the local beauty spots around Pemberton. First was the cascades,a rather subdued stream at this time of year but some lovely reflections of trees in the water. Second was the Beedelup falls, again quiet at the moment bit still beautiful. Next was two huge trees, one for climbing and one immortalised in a 1880 painting now in kew gardens, nothing much has changed as the trees are over 400 years old. We then drove for a few hours through forest, saw a few emus and only1 dead roo today, until we reached the coast at Walpole where we had a picnic lunch by the jetty.
In the afternoon we went to the valley of the giants tree top walk . A wonderful walk on a suspended walkway 40 m above the forest floor up amongst the treetops,we even saw a little quokka below. There was also another walk around some big tingle trees there. We'd already been to see the giant tingle tree near walpole where in the past people had parked their camper vans inside but we live in more enlightened days now. Finally we made it to Denmark, the town not the country, for the night.
