The Barossa day 3

Angaston, South Australia, Australia
We went for a drive to the southern barossa hills and walk up to the Steingarten viewpoint for fabulous views across the barossa. An iconic Jacob's Creek vineyard, Steingarten is up there in the lea of the crest. It is only a mile away from the original Jacob's Creek vineyard down in the valley and hidden by trees like most of their buildings. We were now ready for some tucker and so called in at Kellermeisters for a tasting and ploughman's style lunch. It was very relaxing sitting outside on the lawn with a view of the hills.
Back home we all had a long chat with Angharad on skype and it seems we will all be together again in the flesh at christmas and only 10 weeks before she is home for the summer . Yay!
For dinner we had the local lamb we had purchased and the eponymous family wine with it. It was unusual for the Barossa in that it is not a Shiraz wine but mainly a grenache wine with a bit of cinsault and mataro. perfect for lamb.
