Angaston, South Australia, Australia
This morning Sacha drove us to the local railway station,Gawler a sizeable town on the edge of the Barossa before he went to work. We took a train to Adelaide to catch a train out to Belair at the end of another line from the city up in the hills. The first journey was was through rather dull flat land of modern suburban houses interspersed with some bush. The stations all looked quite modern and well kept. Then to make us feel at home we had to use a rail bus replacement service which then got held up with extensive road works at a major road junction. However we managed to catch our second train which slowly meandered up through far nicer leafy suburbs up to Belair. We went to visit Peter and Christine who we met on our trip to Iran. Their house is an eco house that they built into the side of a hill. We had a walk in the national park which is nearby before spending the rest of the day catching up with stories of both of our recent travels. They are off to Slovakia,Austria and Italy next week for their annual winter holiday in Europe.
