The Vintage Festival Parade

Angaston, South Australia, Australia
The culmination of a week long festival to celebrate this year's vintage is a big procession from Tanunda to Nuriootpa. The festival is the reason for the many churches and wineries putting on events that we have been to this past week.
As the main road was closed for the event we had to take a back road and drive though the vineyards on a dirt track to Kaesler's winery where we took a couple of the garden chairs and sat out on the roadside with the other locals waiting for the parade . It was fun and reminded us of when Angharad was the West End Carnival queen and attended this kind of event. When the procession had passed by we nipped into the winery and had a wine tasting. This was to wait for the traffic to pass by as we needed to drive into Nuriootpa to attend the village fete where we had a steak sandwich courtesy of the tennis club and a beer from a local brewery.
When we went home we watched the recent series of Y Gwyll/hinterland and the sight of a grey sea crashing into Aberystwyth and the wild welsh countryside made us think of home and the realisation that we fly back next saturday although we do have a trip to the Flinders ranges next week planned.
