Antalya, Antalya, Turkey
A must see in Antalya is the Archeological Museum where many of the treasures and items from the nearby sites are shown. To get there we took a restored tram along the main street and we were the first visitors of the day. A vast collection of statuary and sarcophagi.
Our bus picked us up and after an hour or so driving along the coast we stopped to see some rock tombs from 9000 BCE in the town where St Nicholas came from. A quick lunch and it was time to board our gullet for a trip along the coast with a couple of swims on the way. We passed by an abandoned town with a sunken harbour and saw remains of amphorae on the sea bed. Across the the bay was the replacement town with a Roman castle on the summit. A steep climb but worth it with a view down to the necropolis.
Back on board we sailed into a little cove and as the sunset the crew barbecued sea bream for us. We slept on deck looking at all the stars.
