Today we visited the Topkapi museum,the ancient and original ottoman palace. Thankfully we were one of the first in ,as our hotel is opposite and an even better thing is we have been doubly upgraded and got some wi-fi for a change. Our first port of call was the Harem which most tour groups miss out so time and space to view the magnificent rooms. A nice cup of tea overlooking the Bosporus before looking at the collections of chinese porcelain,clocks and treasures.
We attempted to visit the Blue Mosque but it was time for prayers so no heathens allowed. It is in the process of being renovated and covered in scaffolding so no loss. Outside the Mosque the police were heavily in evidence as tomorrow is national day and preparations for a televised event were taking part.
