It never rains, but it pours

Palermo, Sicily, Italy
We really couldn't complain about the weather so far this trip, but it seems we've run out of luck. The weather gods are no longer smiling. We had that sudden storm in Kusadasi, then some showers yesterday in Rome. And today in Palermo, heavy rain for a few hours this afternoon, and the same forecast for tomorrow. Yech!

Up until today, I would have said Crete was my least favourite port ...but Palermo has now earned that title. Of course, it was Sunday, so that could explain why everything seemed closed...except the bazillion churches which are always open for business. So, we had a bit of a walk through the town. Looked at a few nice old buildings and interesting street scapes, and then headed back to the ship before the cloudburst. We couldn't even find a nice little cafe or bar for our daily beer.

And to seal the day as a bit of a dud, the meal options in the dining room tonight were less than stellar, and there was no worthwhile movies or entertainment. Guess it's an early night. Well, it's been a busy few days, so some well earned rest will be in order!
