Rain, rain go away, don’t come back till I leave this place! But that’s not likely to happen. There’s rain in the forecast for the remainder of our holiday. Needless to say, with the poor weather again today, our tour to Treshnish Isles was cancelled. Oh well, it’ll just mean we’ll need to come back again.
Our plan B was a trip over to the Isle of Mull and a visit to Tobermory. We believed that this was the home of Kier’s ancestors. When we stopped in to the museum there, we learned that his ancestors actually came from Ulva which is a small island beside Mull. But with a current population of 6...yes SIX, it’s safe to say that the island is pretty much considered part of Mull.
The rain held off during our stay on Mull, but as soon as we returned to Oban, the skies really opened up. Needless to say, it was a wet walk for supper tonight. We had a great fish and chip meal, but being soaked to the skin sort of detracted from the enjoyment. And the other thing that needed fixing? Well, I ordered ‘ice tea’. They brought a very nice bottle of Lipton’s Raspberry Ice Tea to the table with a tall glass. You know where I’m going with this, don’t you! I ask what I consider to be an obvious question...’have you got any ice?’, to which the server replies ‘no’. I so wanted to respond ‘then it’s just cold tea’...but I thought better of it, seeing that I didn’t have my food yet!
It wouldn’t have mattered if the sidewalks unrolled for Thursday night...cause when we got back to our room and out of our soaked through clothes, it was in for the night with the fireplace on and a hot bath. It only hurts a little to know that it’s 25 degrees back home...
