The pied piper of Galway

Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland
I just can’t help it, it’s in my nature.  We went from a group of 4 today traveling from Galway to Killarney to a group of 6.  We picked up a couple from New Orleans at the bus station.  They were in front of us in the queue, and in spite of my chocolate face fiasco of the other day, I got back on that social butterfly horse and struck up a conversation.  They were heading to Killarney as well, but being first timers, didn’t know the finer details of changing buses in Limerick.  So bottom line, I got them here safely and left them to find their lodgings on their own.  They did ask for tips on things to do and see, which I gladly obliged.  I told them we’d no doubt see them around town over the next 3 days, and I’m quite sure that we will.
We got checked in to Dan’s, my usual spot when traveling to Killarney, and as luck would have it (cause there still is luck left in those lucky undies of mine), I happened to mention that we were heading to the horse races tonight and did he know what time they started?  He did...cause Dan’s is sponsoring a race...and they have a private party upstairs at the track...so pop in at the bar before we head over and pick up our discounted entry tickets...and don’t buy programs as they are available at the ‘party’...and if you want to travel over by jaunting cart, meet at 4:20...oh...and did I mention the free food??  I don’t need to tell you how I feel about FREE!!
I had a wonderful visit with my ‘supplier’...the woman who feeds my addiction...my bath addiction that is!  She makes the most incredible bath bombs as well as other lovely products.  Check them out on her website by googling Clonfaddasoaps.com.  (A little advertisement for you. Marie!). It was great to spend time with her and we had many a laughs.  Thank goodness for Facebook, cell phones, and texting which allows two people from a chance meeting at a farmer’s market in Adare back 3 years ago to develop and maintain a friendship over the years.  Amazing!!
Now the races...apparently the lucky undies were instrumental in getting us TO the races and all the frill that went along with the evening, but they just didn’t cut it when it came to picking winning horses.  Fay on the other hand was on a streak.  Oh well, a good time was had by all and now it’s time to get some rest.  A busy day coming up tomorrow.  If only I had a bath tub, you’d know where I’d be!
