It takes a village...

It truly does take a village to get a team ready for a National Playoff.  We’ve been very fortunate to have a lot of support along the way.  Support from the NB Police Association; from family and friends who donated prizes to our raffle; from the International Police Association Region 16 for supplying our jackets; from fellows curlers and still other friends and family who stepped up and ‘bought in’ on fundraising efforts; to TSA who hosted a lovely sendoff complete with cake.  Thanks to each and every one of you!
And who knew that conducting a raffle would be such an emotional investment on my part.  But, of course, with only 3 prizes on the line and slightly over 100 tickets sold, well, you do the math...not everyone could go away with a prize.  Congrats to those who were lucky!
It’s going to be a gruelling, albeit fun, stretch in Newfoundland.  There’s one thing the ‘Newfs’ know how to do, and that’s make you feel welcome.  Whether it’s getting ‘screeched in’, kissing the cod, or, my personal favourite, kissing the puffin’s arse, it’s gonna be a wild ride.
Stay tuned for the highlights...and I may even write a bit about the curling!!  But if you’re really into the curling can follow this link:
Till Friday...
