Nothing up my sleeve

As Bullwinkle once said to Rocky, "watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat". Bullwinkle then stated "nothing up my sleeve" and proceeded to pull a rhinoceros out of the hat, or a bear, sometimes a lion, and even a tiger. It was always a surprise, that's what made it so exciting. Well, I was only 5 at the time. But who doesn't love a surprise? And who wouldn't love a milestone birthday surprise? Someone going to Europe in May is having one of those milestone birthdays, and it isn't me! It just so happens that I DO have something up my sleeve. Our schedule on Sunday, May 4th was looking pretty empty, so I took advantage of the opening to plan a couple of little surprises. Cause really, who doesn't love a surprise? What are they? Nope...not gonna tell...you'll have to come back and check at the end of the day on the 4th to find out.

As time gets near, there's less and less to do . Everything's been looked after. I've even managed to book a boat cruise on the River Seine. Hey, it's Paris! You've just got to do it. The best thing was that booking in advance entitled you to a nice discount, plus the flexibility to use your tickets whenever is convenient within a year after booking. Ours can be used for either an afternoon or evening cruise.

All I have to do now is watch for a last minute discount on a hotel. I think we're pretty good on most of our bookings, but a bit of a discount on our London hotel wouldn't be discouraged. I have my eye on another hotel in the area which I've stayed at before, and seems to have lots of availability. That's a recipe for a last minute discount, don't ya think?

Next on my list...start packing. It's never too early for that, is it?

You are a brat but I love you anyway. I am getting so excited. Just a little over 2 weeks away.
