I am happy to report that things are coming together nicely for our holiday next April. The list of "must see" is getting longer. Will we have enough time? All our accommodations are booked and 2 of us have our flights. I was extremely happy to repeat the great deal I got last year by getting my flights for only $30 more than what I paid a year ago. It's a great feeling to know you got the best possible deal.
So London is first on the agenda and that is the spot where our list of activities continues to grow. Of course we're doing the Abbey Road zebra crossing to mimic the album cover; I have tickets to the Ceremony of the Keys at the Tower of London; there's Highclere Castle tickets which haven't come on sale as yet; a Jack the Ripper Tour; the Fashion Rules exhibit at Kensington Palace; the Harry Potter Studio Tour; the London Eye and London Dungeon; the horse sculptures in the Thames that we saw on Facebook a few months ago; Gordon's Wine Bar; and possibly Stonehenge.
From there we travel up to Liverpool and a couple of days of the Beatles. We have a great 4 hour private tour with an added on walking tour. Besides that we want to see the Beatles Museum.
We'll be saying goodbye to Kim after Liverpool as she heads back to Canada, while Shelley and I head on to Dublin for 5 more nights. There's the requisite free walking tour there plus a day trip to Dalkey to do the coastal walk to Killiney. We're also heading up to Northern Ireland to see the Giant's Causeway, the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, and several Game of Thrones filming locations before spending an hour in Belfast. That will be one long day, but well worth the time. We'll be spending some time at my favourite Temple Bar spot, Oliver St John Gogarty's, for the live music and overpriced drinks.
To say I'm excited is an understatement. I can't wait!!!
