Clare, Clare, Ireland
Sometimes you take a tour that is so great that even the rain can’t dampen your spirits. Today was such a day. We did an all day tour over to the Cliffs of Moher. Enroute we stopped at a couple of castles, the mini cliffs, and had a lovely lunch in a small pub called Fitzpatrick’s in Doolin, Co Clare. We even got to take an hour long boat ride out to the base of the Cliffs which really gave us perspective in appreciating just how high these 700+ foot cliffs really are.

We had a phenomenal bus driver/guide who entertained us throughout the 12 .5 hour day. He sang, he told jokes, he gave us tons of information about everything we encountered on our day. Our last stop was a choice between Bunratty Castle or Blarney Woollen Mills store. Seeing that I was down a bit of retail therapy, I opted for the shopping and made my first significant souvenir purchase of the trip. A beautiful scarf hand made in Kilkenny, Ireland. That’s what I love most about the Blarney Woollen Mills stores, how they feature the products of local artisans. They cost a little more…but they’re worth it.

Tonight it was down to the resident pub at the hotel and some Irish music with our chicken wings. Yum!

Another full day on schedule for tomorrow. Time to catch some zzzz’s!
