Chinatown moving day

Singapore, Singapore
So I started my day straight up by moving accommodation and storing my bags for check-in later. I went to the Chinatown Heritage Centre, which was really good, and went through the history of Chinese immigrants in Chinatown and what life was like for them. It's really shocking how recent it all is, the living conditions in the 50s were just crazy compared to how modern the city is now. After that I headed to the national gallery, which was pretty great as well. The architecture of the place is amazing, and there were some really interesting exhibits. I had noodles there for lunch, and then made my way through all the galleries that I had access to with general admission. After the national gallery, I went on a walking tour (just through my phone) recommended by lonely planet, and looked a few mosques, shrines and temples in and around Chinatown. It was about halfway through when I got to just near my hostel, so at that point I stopped and went and checked in. The new hostel is quite different, it presents as fancier, with lots of vintage furniture in the Lobby, and a privacy curtain for each bunk. But it's a bigger dorm that I'm staying in, and there's less toilet/shower facilities, so I think it evens out to be about the same! After settling in for a while, I went out for dinner at a hawker centre and had some great noodles, then just went and explored a rooftop bar and around Clarke Quay.
