It’s been a very quiet week and a half since I wrote last, with my time mostly taken up by some work in the morning, then doing YouTube workouts, a yoga challenge, puzzles, cooking and a bit of gardening. It’s been much easier here to shop online so getting our food delivered with Amazon wasn’t a problem. I’ve also used Amazon to buy some soil and seeds so we’ve now got a mini garden that I’m looking forward to seeing growing!
We had some minor drama on Tuesday with our landlord emailing us announcing that she is thinking about selling the apartment in September (when our lease expires). However, after a phone conversation with her yesterday where she said she just wants to sound out the market for a few weeks and is very happy with us as tenants, we’re not overly concerned. Not rush-to-find-another-apartment concerned anyway!
Last night we watched Hamilton, which was filmed when it was on Broadway with the original cast in 2017. We ordered in a fancy dinner from Hide, a restaurant in central London, and I had a delicious octopus with greens and Peter had a fish steak with salad. We shared some carpaccio and a lovely chocolate brioche dessert. Unfortunately we were both falling asleep half way through the theatre – but the benefit of being at home was that we could pause it, and we are going to finish it tonight. The show was a little hard to follow if you didn’t know American history very well, but the music was fantastic – it’s influenced by hip hop and r’n’b as well as your usual music theatre, so it’s a little different. I’m looking forward to finishing it tomorrow.
I go back to school on Wednesday, so very much looking forward to that!
