We had a bit of a slower start on Friday morning, heading down for breakfast later and taking our time to pack up the room before we headed out the door. It was about a 25 minute walk to the station (much faster and easier than the trail we’d taken from it!) and we arrived with plenty of time to spare. The 10:45 train was only 2 carriages, but not too busy, and we enjoyed the beautiful views as we chugged back to Glasgow. The train got in at 12, but annoyingly we couldn’t check into our hotel until 4 so we had quite a lot of time to kill!
We hopped on a bus which took us out to the west end of town and found our way to (no guesses!) the other Glasgow BrewDog.
Peter got his stamp and we had a great lunch of loaded fries while we chatted about the plans for the next few days. Once we’d eaten, we collected up our stuff and walked one street over to the Grunting Growler, a craft beer store we’d heard about through friends.
We sat down to try one of the local beers before walking back to the bus stop and headed back across town. The check in for the apartment was very smooth as we just had codes to all the doors, so we quickly dropped our stuff and settled in.
Once we were all sorted we walked across the road to the People’s Park and along the path to WEST brewery, a spot I’d visited last time I was here.
They have a huge German-themed beer hall and I just had to order currywurst alongside a couple of beers that we drank and ate sitting on the grass in the sunshine! It was a delightful end to a pretty easy day!
