Tour day 5 - Jaisalmer to Jodhpur

Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India
Today driving from Jaislmer to Jodhpur, which is supposed to take 6 hours. Another long day in the car.

Ken went for breakfast and due to some translation problems ended up getting three breakfasts instead of one. He ate as much as he could but had to give up with food still on the table.

Met the driver, Mr. Guru, at 9 am and headed east, back down the highway we'd come in on. Again, lots of construction on the road. Slow and bumpy. After almost 3 hours we turned southeast toward Jodhpur. More construction!

Drove by a dead cow on the edge of the pavement, all black and bloated, skin taut like a balloon about to pop. Rather than move the cow off the road, someone had laid out a perimeter of large stones around it on the highway. Nice.

Eventually we arrived in Jodhpur and were dropped at our hotel, the Kuchaman Haveli.

There was no tour planned for the afternoon, so we had lunch in the hotel restaurant and then explored some of the old town in the area of the hotel.

Walked down the road to the Sardar Market with it's clock tower.

Went further along into the Kandoi Bazar. It was really crazy, on par with Main Bazar Road in Delhi.

Bought beer and bottled water on the way back.

By the time we got back to the hotel it was dark. We sat on the balcony above the lobby where the wifi seemed to work okay and drank the beer we'd bought.
