Richmond, England, United Kingdom
Hi again folks,
Here we are still in Gods country, we arrived on this site yesterday and move on tomorrow. We didn’t do much yesterday as we arrived later than we planned due to sitting on the A1, going nowhere for an hour! We then came off the A1 and after travelling through Catterick Garrison and Richmond itself the road was closed 2 miles away from the site, we retraced our route and back onto the A1 then onto the A66 and into the site. It’s a Caravan and Motorhome Club site so very well looked after.
Today we ventured into Richmond by taxi, no local buses due to the bank holiday. We visited the waterfalls and had a meander around the streets, sussing out the old railway station which has been preserved and made into a cinema, cafe and art gallery. We did a bit of geocaching which took us to places where we could get some good photos. Maureen wanted to find our daughter Kelly’s old boarding school, she was there in the late 80s, sadly the place is derelict although still standing.
I had a mission to find a pair of flat soled shoes as when we get to Maryport next week we are going bowling with friends Paul and Jane. Mission accomplished Paul! As always we had to have a beverage whilst out and about, oh, and fish and chips for lunch, Moe had pizza!
We’ve managed to get washing done and dried so just a little bit of emptying and filling tomorrow before we head over the A66 to a pub campsite just outside Carlisle, no geocaches nearby so it could be a quiet couple of days, at last!

Richmond sounds great and the Geo Cashing is keeping you busy. I love that wood carving, top work from the carver. Enjoy your bowling x

All looks very nice and peaceful, shame about the journey and sitting in traffic. The traffics been horrendous in Essex, My son and I were meant to meet yesterday so I could give him his birthday present, neither of us fancied sitting in the car in the sweltering heat so took a rain check! Hope you enjoy your quiet time and relax, can't wait to hear where you are going next luv Dor xx
