EXPLORING THE ROMAN RUINS OF AOSTA

Wednesday, March 22, 2017
Aosta, Valle d'Aosta, Italy
Today as the entry title suggests we went to the sites of the roman ruins. They are scattered throughout Aosta so it was interesting finding them. We took red ted with us so Nashie could see some photos of him. I was a little worried that he would fall into the off limits parts behind the scaffolds, but I'm sure grandad would have climbed in to rescue him. Then we would have probably been thrown out. As with all roman ruins, they were very interesting, seeing how these enormous structures were built and the stories behind them. The area was first developed in 25 B.C. under roman emperor Augusta. The Roman Theatre and surrounds are still being restored today and hold concerts there today.
