Today we took the bus to Courmayeur, about an hour from Aosta. A beautiful town with stunning scenery quite close to the French border. It is popular with celebrities and so is quite expensive. On the bus trip up we had a good view of Mont Blanc and thought we would be able to see it better from Courmayeur but the view was blocked from the town by another huge mountain. As we would have to go further for a better view and we really didn't have time as we had to co-ordinate buses we decided to spend our time in Courmayeur. We had wood fired pizzas with quite expensive wine with a view of skiers on the mountains in the distance. It was a lovely day however, later sitting on our balcony, we think the mountains outside our apartment are just as spectacular.
