TOUR TO TARQUINIA AND TUSCANIA

Civitavecchia, Lazio, Italy
Today our port of call was Civitavecchia Rome and as we had been to Rome we decided to do a ship excursion to a couple of nearby towns that have Etruscan heritage, Tuscania and Tarquinia. Tarquinia is an old walled city famous for its painted tombs which date back to the 6th century. We only saw them from the outside and Kerry was very disappointed. There are many of the old watch towers still standing, some of them have been converted into apartments and others are uninhabited. Tuscania is also a walled city and the view of the surrounding countryside from the look out was breathtaking.         TARQUINIA PHOTOS              TUSCANIA PHOTOS
