A JOLLY GOOD TIME IN ENGLAND.....,.

London, England, United Kingdom
What a jolly good time we've been having in merry ole England. The most emotional event was in the gardens in front of Buckingham Palace. A crew were tilling the soil to plant a beautiful garden and I told them that I had a small container of my Mom's ashes. Her maiden name was Churchill and she never made it to England as she had wanted. I asked if they would add Mom's ashes to the soil and a very nice Englishman dug a hole and added Mom's ashes and covered it up. He was so compassionate, caring and respectful of my Mom. What a wonderful man and such an emotional few moments for me. Now Mom...you will forever be in your England,

Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, The Parliament, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalga Square, the River Thames (another wonderful Englishman told us how to pronounce it .. tems), The British Museum and Selfridges were exactly as I had imagined... amazing.
The old houses and building brought to mind the feeling during WWII.

We missed seeing the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. During this time of year it only happens Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun. We overslept on Fri and will be leaving early Sunday. Oh well, there is always YouTube. As Dave cautioned me not to, I walked up to a police officer at the entrance to Buckingham Palace to ask questions...Dave was afraid we might get shot at....but not me....I love to push the envelope and hey...if I don't ask....You won't know. At worst...He could have asked us to "bugger off"... The officer told us that the Queen was not in. If she was in, there would be her flag with her crest flying and there would be 4 Guards...there were only 2. Interesting. We will be back next weekend for 1 night and she might be in. Maybe this time I'll ring the doorbell...lol.

England...we will be back 2 more times this trip.

Tomorrow we take a train to Holyhead, England (west coast)...and then a ferry to Dublin, Ireland.....the Emerald Isle......
