Another early start, this time we are ready to board the zodiacs at 6.30am for a wet landing a Punta Cormorant. Today we take the slow walk with the photo instructor. First thing we come across is a lake of flamingos. They are so beautiful and graceful. We walk along the beach and see a couple of blue footed boobies and some sea lions basking in the sun with plenty of sally light foot crabs.

After breakfast at 9 .15am we are ready for an exploration of Champion Islet in a zodiac to search for wild life. We see the Floreana mockingbird, blue footed boobies, turtles, sea lions and brown pelicans.

Snorkelling is up next at 10.40am. Geoff heads off again with the more experienced snorkelers and I snorkel in the bay. Not long after being in the water sea lions come up and swim next to you and look at you. I saw some really colourful fish too even though it was not too deep. We didn't want to go out in the glass bottom boat because we were snorkelling and thought that this would be far better.

One of the ocean photographers gives a talk after lunch about the currents in the oceans. Did you know that the northern hemisphere the current is clockwise and the southern hemisphere the current is anti-clockwise?   Hence, the mixing of the cold and warm waters. Well there you go you learnt something too!

They also offer kayaking but it is a bit rough and windy for me . Also looks like that for a lot of other people as they only fill 4 of the 8 kayaks from approx. 96 people on board.

After lunch we head off to the Floreana Post Office. It’s a barrel which the whalers founded in the 18^th century so that when a ship passes by they give the mail to. As for today, the naturalists read out the addresses on the post cards to see if there is anyone on the cruise who lives close by and can hand deliver the postcards left from other cruises / visitors to the island. I have one to deliver to someone and Wilston but it was only left in the box on 6 May 2015. Not bad for a delivery service. Everyone then puts in their postcards in the hope that they will be delivered one day too.

Movie on tonight about the crazy people of Floreana but we are not attending as another adventure filled day and we are tired teddies again.
