District and city tour today from 8.30am until 2.30pm. We went to the cemetery where Eva Peron is in a crypt. The crypt is a very non descript because she is resting in her brother in-law's crypt and the name throws you off the scent. The Duarte Family is the name used as the owner of the crypt is the name displayed at the top. I did not realise that she was only 33 years old when she died of cervical cancer.   The cemetery is right in town. Boy I would hate to be in the cemetery at night time with all of the crypts. This place was really busy too.

Then a short drive out of town to see La Boca which is known for the local soccer team where Maradonna was famous. The area is a port and has some really colourful buildings and there are 3 statues of famous people. These statues are of Maradonna, Pope Francis and a tango singer.  Pope Francis is also popular here as they are proud that he is from the capita of Argentina, Buenos Aires .

Back to the city for a walking tour of the municipal buildings and the President's Palace which is only used as an office. The balcony in the picture is famous for the speeches and especially the ones in the movie Evita. Today, most of the city is closed off to traffic as they are setting up for Monday 25 May which is like their independence day. They have lots of displays in the surrounding streets to depict certain traits from each of the regions from Argentina. Also,  they have a long weekend this weekend by we will already be onto the next place to visit.

Dinner was at an Argentine BBQ, El Mirosal. Entrée was an Empanada which is like a pastie without the vegetables and we had a beautiful rib eye fillet which was absolutely delicious with a great Argentine red wine from Trapiche which was a Malbec.  Gee I could not even manage dessert as I was so full.
