Cruising the Tigre River and Delta

Saturday, May 23, 2015
Buenos Aires, Argentina
Weather - overcast with a chance of a shower
Temperature 17 to 12 degrees

We took a bus trip to the Tigre River and Delta regions . We stopped for a photo of the river, it is only 240 km in width.

The boat ride was for approx. 2 hours and we had a boat just for our group, only 14 people, heaps of room. The river reminded me of home, all brown and muddy.

This afternoon was free time for everyone so we went back to town to look around again and have some dinner. We went to Geoff's favourite Argentine BBQ restaurant, La Estancia. Now this is what I call a BBQ restaurant. The meat frames were on a BBQ in the front window and it was brought out on a little BBQ. The meat was so tender and tasty. As you can see from the size of the BBQ for 2 we couldn't even get through half and most people order chips and salad on the side as well. There were hardly any people in the restaurant as it was only 5.45pm. Everyone here usually eats about 9.00pm but I didn't want to go back out again after for dinner. We walked home, thank goodness. It took about a good 30 minutes.

Tomorrow we fly to Brazil.
